The North Lincoln
Fire & Rescue District #1 protects Lincoln County along
Highway 101 north from Cascade Head; south to the Siletz
River; eastward along Highway 18 to the Van Duzer Corridor
and along the Siletz River Highway #229 to milepost #5.5.
Included in this area are the communities of Rose Lodge,
Otis, Neotsu, Roads End, Kernville, Cutler City, Schooner
and Drift Creek, as well as, all of Lincoln City.
This District is comprised
4 Career officers and approx
60 volunteer personnel.
The District responds
to a diversity of emergency services including: fire suppression,
medical and technical rescue, water rescue, rope rescue,
and hazardous materials incidents. North Lincoln Fire
& Rescue also offers a variety of prevention, fire safety
education services, and emergency preparedness classes.
In 2004 NLF&R responded to nearly
1500 alarms, 370 of which were fire calls. The District
relies heavily on the volunteer's response to these alarms
and we greatly appreciate employers allowing our volunteers
the leeway to respond when possible. The District
is always looking for dedicated people to volunteer as firefighters.
Volunteers, while preparing to serve the public, gain much
knowledge and insight into the many interesting facets of
modern fire services. |
