EMS Training

In order for our EMTs and paramedics to perform at their best on medical emergencies and rescue calls, the Training Division coordinates with the Department Medical Director and  Operations Chief to conduct ongoing EMS training.
This training follows the National Standard Curriculum for EMTs and paramedics. Topics addressed range from scene safety and clinical decision making to pulmonary disorders and cardiology to toxicology, PHTLS, Neonatology and Pediatrics. Each month a different topic from the Protocols is reviewed, as are the monthly Quality Assurance reports to maintain the highest level of care.

In addition to the ongoing training provided to our paramedics and EMTs, NLF&R takes the opportunity to train with Samaratin North Lincoln  Hospital  and Pacific West Ambulance.
