Fire Operations

North Lincoln Fire & Rescue has been fighting fires for over 100 years. Beginning as two separate department that were all  volunteer,  North Lincoln Fire & Rescue has evolved into one District that continues to provide the highest level of professionalism and ability when it comes to fire attack. Each firefighter is certified as a Firefighter I or II with over 100 hours of initial firefighter training, and then continually enhances their performance through driver training, officer training and skill proficiency through the Department’s Training Division. More information about Fire Training can be found at the Training Division section.

While actual firefighting accounts for a small percentage of the overall activities of the District, when a fire breaks out it takes a coordinated and timely effort to save lives and property. Therefore it is important that our firefighters be prepared at any given moment with the latest tools and equipment. The newest addition to the District is new self-contained breathing apparatus purchased through a federal grant. Firefighters performed testing to determine which SCBA would be best suited for our personnel, and along with state-of-the-art protective gear and modern front-line fire apparatus North Lincoln Fire & Rescue is fully prepared to manage significant fire emergencies.

For more information about the NLF&R Operations Division, contact Assistant Chief Doug Kerr at 541-994-3100.
